Janakalyan is a team of professionals committed for people’s empowerment. It is presently working in the northern districts of Karnataka with various activities. Its thrust area being empowerment of the underprivileged sections of the society, all the programs are implemented through the Self Help Groups formed by women as well men. It has stepped into 14th year of its developmental interventions, although it has a long history of more than 23 years in the development sector through educational interventions in the forgotten areas of the District.

It has learnt through its experience that making agriculture a profitable enterprise is an important issue and is a cause for Illiteracy, thus Unemployment and Poverty. All these are interlinked and can be eradicated if the root cause is uprooted. Presently it has few major programs implemented through SHGs to eradicate the root causes of poverty.

Vision:

Creation of an enabling healthy environment where all individual has equal access to and control over the Social, cultural, Educational and Political Institutions with an economically secured livelihood.

Mission:

Janakalyan exists to empower the four holy mothers so that an economically secured healthy atmosphere is developed where all individual identity has their deserved status through institution building by 2020.
